I recently discovered the great wide world of digital stamps. That's right: digital artwork you can print out & color to decorate your planner, create handmade cards, or indulge in any number of papercrafts. I use them to make stickers which I add to my planner pages in order to have something to color in during down time.
Totally. The thing is, like most planner supplies, a lot of what's out there is very cutesy and girl-next-door. I have absolutely nothing against that, of course, and I'm glad it's available for those who want it. But it's very much... not me. I'm more of a creepy-cute skulls-and-pinups kinda girl.
So where are the stamps for girls like me?
Fortunately, they do exist! In no particular order, here are my 6 favorite places to get digital stamps for my planner... and be sure to read to the end to get your FREE gothic planner girl stamp!
The PaperBabe has some epically awesome alternative-styled digital stamps. From the Queen of Hearts to Dillon the bat-winged Halloween boy to a this witchy pinup woman, I'm all about the high quality and clean line art that Kim produces.
If creepy-cute is your jam, then OddballArtCo is the place to shop. Bats, skulls, punky clothes and adorable zombie stuffed animals are the order of the day. This bunny & skull combination is one of my personal favorites.
Prefer a sexier, sassier look? NeverDie has you covered. These pinup girls feature tattoos, attitude, and a lot of Dia de los Muertos style. You can grab individual pages to color or snag a whole 16-page printed coloring book full of spectacular art.
The incredible detail in Kuik's soft & elegant art makes her pieces a delight to color. While a lot of her stuff is more fantasy themed than alternative, she does have a section for spooky / Halloween stamps. I particularly loved her Blue Pumpkin piece.
The one down side to Kuik's style is that because many of her lines don't fully intersect, the Live Trace function on a Silhouette (or other cutting machine) won't work on many of the images. I loved them enough that I just cut them out by hand and used them anyway, but your mileage may vary.
Maybe anime is more your thing. In this case, LemonShortbread's shoujo style might be right up your alley. In this shop, the sweet and the sassy are all mixed up together, so settle in with a tasty beverage and prepare to browse. Personally, I adore this little flapper girl with bats & skulls.
